To ensure that welding robots operate efficiently and function properly, users must perform regular maintenance and inspections on the robot body and system after the robot has been in use for a specified period of time. To ensure the safety of both equipment and personnel during operation, the robot should undergo an inspection every 4,000 hours of operation (or at least once every two years). A Brief Discussion on the Inspection and Maintenance of Welding Robots

I. Inspection of the Welding Robot Body:

1. The robot body and control cabinet contain lithium batteries used to back up data from the servo motor encoders. Battery lifespan varies depending on the working environment. Replace the batteries after two years; otherwise, the motor encoder data will be lost, requiring a new home position calibration. Before replacement, back up the teaching data to prevent loss of teaching programs and configuration parameters.

2. Check whether the markings on each axis align as intended.

3. During automatic and manual operation, check whether each axis operates smoothly and stably.

4. Verify that the robot's safety switch and emergency stop switch are functioning properly.

5. Check that the wire feed mechanism operates smoothly.

6. Inspect the reduction gear mechanism for wear.

7. Adjust the tension of the toothed belt.

8. Replenish lubricant on the TW, BW, and RW axes (do not use regular grease in the oil ports).

II. Control Cabinet Inspection

1. Replace the lithium battery.

2. Inspect the cooling fan.

3. Inspect the cables (grounding cable, power cable, control cable).

4. Check that all switches on the teach pendant control panel are functioning properly.

5. Remove dust from inside the control cabinet.

III. Inspection of External Axes and Positioning Fixtures

1. Replace the lithium battery.

2. Add lubricating oil.

3. Check that all connecting bolts are tight.

4. Check for any abnormalities during operation.

5. Check for wear on the positioning pins.

IV. Welding Machine Section

1. Welding power source (remove dust from interior; check for loose connections).

2. Welding torch (clean the nozzle; check for blockages in the wire feed tube; verify insulation is intact; check for gas leaks in the air hose; inspect cables for looseness or damage).

3. Wire feed unit (check for wear on the feed rollers; inspect the SUS tube for damage or wear; verify the wire feed motor is operating normally).

4. Grounding cable (check for burn damage, cracking, and secure connections).
